William F. Murphy, CPA is the Partner-in-Charge of the Firm’s Accounting and Auditing Quality Control Department. He joined the Firm in 1985, after briefly working for a New York City accounting firm that specialized in auditing mutual funds.
Bill primarily specializes in providing accounting and auditing advice to his own colleagues and his clients for industries that include construction and wrecking, non-profit organizations, employee benefit plans and HUD related audits.
As part of Bill’s responsibilities to keep his colleagues up to date in accounting and auditing matters and to provide continuing professional education credits for them, he has conducted several seminars concerning non-profit organizations, employee benefit plans and general auditing and accounting procedures.
A Certified Public Accountant in both New Jersey and New York, Bill is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA), and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). In addition, he is a Certified Financial Planner and a member of the Financial Planning Association.
A graduate of Rutgers College, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. Bill resides in Landing, New Jersey with his wife, Kathy and daughter Katie. He is active in his church, St. Michael’s in Netcong and in a non-profit organization for the benefit of people who stutter, Speak Easy International Foundation, Inc.
