Louis Miele, CPA
Louis Miele, CPA joined Leaf, Saltzman, Manganelli, Pfeil & Tendler, LLP in 1982. Louis' strengths can be seen when he is assisting closely held businesses with financial and tax matters. He frequently advises clients in areas such as financial statement presentation, financing their business and personal assets, sales and mergers of business, compensation issues and succession planning. His clients also rely on him for corporate, personal and estate tax planning advice.
During the years, Louis has expanded his client base to include the following industries: construction, trucking, warehousing and logistics, retail, manufacturing and medical practices. Currently, Louis heads up the Firm’s Construction Division.
A Certified Public Accountant in both New Jersey and New York, Louis is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA), and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He is also a member of the Hilltop Community Bank (Summit, New Jersey) Professional Development Council.
Within the firm, Louis is an elected member of both the Executive Committee and the Compensation Committee. He is also a trustee of the Firm’s 401K plan.
Louis has been quoted on numerous occasions on a variety of accounting and tax related topics, in NJ Biz, a weekly New Jersey based business publication.
Louis is a graduate of Rutgers College where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a concentration in Accounting. After earning his CPA license, Louis returned to Rutgers where he earned his MBA with a concentration in Finance. He was admitted into the Beta Gamma Business Honor Society upon graduation. Louis is also proud of the fact that he is a graduate of Seton Hall Preparatory School.
Louis resides in New Providence, New Jersey with his wife, Tracey and their two children and is very active in his community. Currently, Louis is a member of the Borough of New Providence Recreation Commission where he helps oversee the town’s recreation programs for all age groups. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the New Providence PAL, where he serves as Commissioner of the New Providence Green League, a summer youth baseball league that provides the youth of 25 different communities in Union, Essex, Morris and Somerset counties with an opportunity to play summer baseball. Previously, Louis served for 5 years as the Treasurer of The Learning Circle, a Summit based not for profit that operates child care centers with financial assistance for low income families.
In his free time, Louis enjoys family activities as well as coaching youth sports. He can frequently be found rooting for the Scarlet Knights at Rutgers football and basketball games.
